How do I prevent algae from sticking to my pontoons?

  Skipper

Question:

looking for product to put on pontoons to protect them from green algea sticking to them while it sits in water

Answer:

For your convenience, I’ve highlighted the hyperlinks. Click on the hyperlink to get more information about the selected product.

VS721 is what you’re looking for. I also suggest applying a protective coating of Alumetron before to fill in the grain and make the aluminum more smooth. The smoother the surface, the more difficult for the algae to stick. If you need to get the algae off use Algex (see our Video). You can brighten the aluminum with Alumabrite CBX and if it’s badly stained or has streaks, Alumabuff will take that off. These products will make your pontoons clean and silvery and keep them that way.

Thanks for your question,
