How to Remove VS721 from Fiberglass boat bottom

  Skipper

Dave Kull asked:

Can VS721 be removed from a fiberglass boat bottom in order to apply conventional bottom paint in the future?

Yes, Boat Scrub will remove VS721 from the surface. Afterwards wash it with acetone to get out of the pores.

I suggest that you sand the fiberglass and apply an epoxy barrier coat prior to applying anti-fouling paint to prevent osmosis blisters. VS721 seals the pores to prevent osmosis, but if you remove it you will need another way to protect it.

Thanks for your question,
