Is Alumetron an antifouling coating?

If i apply Alumetron to my pontoons why would i need to apply vs721 to keep algae from attaching to my pontoons.

Alumetron is a protective clear coat that prevents staining, tarnish, corrosion and pitting. It has no antifouling (toxic) or fouling release (non-toxic) properties to prevent algae attachment.

VS721 is an environment friendly clear fouling release coating. When you apply it over Alumetron, below the waterline, it makes the bottom very slick which makes it difficult for algae to attach and clean up much easier. VS721 is more slippery than water.

Alumetron helps because if fills in the fissures in the mill finished aluminum so that when you apply VS721 over that, it makes the bottom even more slick and adds to the difficulty for marine life to attach. Also, if you have Zebra Mussels in your lake, they won’t attach to VS721.

As a bonus, the slick and slippery bottom will reduce friction which will give you better performance such as acceleration and top speed, plus it will reduce fuel consumption.
