WE HAVE PREVIOUSLY USED YOUR PRODUCT FOR ALUMINUM BOATS / PONTOONS, TO CHEMICALLY CLEAN THE HULL. WHAT CHEMICALS ARE USED IN THE PRODUCT AND IS IT STILL AVAILABLE.

We have two different products for cleaning the hulls of aluminum boats and pontoons. These Aluminum Boat and Pontoon Cleaners are:

Algex is a Spray On – Rinse Off cleaner that removes Algae and Zebra Mussels. It is a special formulation of different acids, surfactants and inhibitors that work in synergy to aggressively remove the marine growth from the bottoms of aluminum boats and stern drives without attacking the aluminum like some straight acids will.

• Just spray it on.
• Let it work for 20 to 30 minutes and
• Hose it clean.

One of the tests we did when we were developing the product was to put one 2” x 3” x 1/8” plate in Algex and another in straight acid, for 72 hours. There was no damage to the plate in Algex and the other plate was completely dissolved in the acid.

Alumabrite CBX is a Spray On – Rinse Off cleaner that removes oxidation, staining and tarnish from pontoons and aluminum boats. It is also a special formulation of different acids, surfactants and inhibitors. It is concentrated so you have to dilute it 1 part to 15 or 20 parts water. We recommend that you spray it on with a garden sprayer and rinse it off within 3 to 5 minutes. This is a very aggressive cleaner and if you let remain on the aluminum too long, it will turn it white. It really cleans and brightens the aluminum in a minimum amount of time and with a minimum amount of effort.

When you get your bottoms clean, we recommend protecting the aluminum with our new Alumetron which will keep the aluminum shiny and protect it from oxidation and staining for years. Applying VS721 Bottom Coat to the underwater surfaces will help prevent the attachment of marine growth and give you better performance and fuel economy and make future clean up much easier.

Alumabrite CBX and Alumetron is also popular with sailors for cleaning and brightening their aluminum masts and booms.
