Will VS721 keep Zebra Mussels off my boat bottom
Mike Stamford asked:
I hate the look and hassle of antifouling paint but this year I plan to leave my boat in the water for 2 to 3 weeks at a time when it’s not on its trailer. Will VS721 prevent Zebra Mussels from sticking or at least make the bottom easier to clean? My 22 ft centre console is in fresh water in Wisconsin.

Zebra Mussels have a hard time attaching to VS721 because it is so slick. It has been used in the Great Lakes for over 10 years with great results. If you start to get slime on the bottom of you boat because you do not use it enough for the water to knock it off, simply wipe off the slime with a sponge and that will give you the protection you want. You can do this by either hauling your boat or taking it out to a sand bar and jumping in the water with a sponge.
VS721 will also seal the porosity in the gelcoat to protect against Osmosis Blisters (Boat Pox) and give you better performance. Be sure that the bottom is clean of growth and stains and prep the surface with Boat Scrub for best results.
